One of the only polo courts that challenges Madison's Thunderdome for the status of North America's best place to play polo is under threat by poodles and other members of the increasingly bourgeois Lower East Side canine population. Let's help the New York polo players keep this space accessible to all sorts of people, not just dog owners.
As Ken from NYC says: "A group of dog owners in the Lower East Side is proposing to turn the "pit" at Chrystie & Broome Streets into a dog run. What they don't know is that this unique multi-use space is utilized by a number of groups on a regular basis, has been featured in major media as a multi-use space, and is often left cleaner than it was found by it's users. Please sign our petition to keep this space as it is: www.petitionspot.com/petitions/SaveSaraDRooseveltPark
erg! keep the pit poo-free
the pit is a great court, for playing and watching. i like dogs but you dont have to pick up after your bike.
for the record, the 818's North Hollywood Park in LA is a roller hockey court with the smoothest surface i have ever played on, sweet boards and no dogs.
