The Winter Classic (change of date: Feb 17)

| | |

Teams of three, but not all players may come from the same city.

Prizes TBA, but at least one team will walk away with a "CMWC/Post-American-Apocalypse Survival Kit" containing some cold hard Canadian currency and a jerry can of 100% Venezuelan high-octane gasoline.

Tournament will be played "big ball" style.

More details to come, keep your eye on this space. Announce your teams here in a comment.

fuck you ben

fuck you ben

feih ball

ben-
still planning on you me and crandall? or have you found some other superstars to play with?

also here in Milwaukee we have renamed the bigball game "feih ball" just for future reference.

also chicago will be coming up next sunday at 1pm to play some small ball style(maybe some feih ball as well) ...Madison is welcome as usual.

hell yes

of course.

oh

ill be in chicago this weekend

but soon?

I was planning on this

I was planning on this happening the 10th. I'll be in a West Virginia cave on the 17th.
But I'm sure a car full of other Chicagoans will be there.

sorry you won't be able to

sorry you won't be able to make it lucky. part of moving it to the 17th was that there's a tour da chicago stage on the 10th, and i figured some of you were involved in throwing that.

Yeah, me too. Thanks for

Yeah, me too. Thanks for thinking of Da Tour, though. With or without me, Chicago will be represented at the winter classic.

Now, this weekend, I'm going back down to St Louis to continue training my B-AMWBPC shock-squad. I think we'll call them... Egan's Rats

We're in.

Trent and I just read your post, and, subsequently, the Wikipedia page on Egan's Rats. Pending approval from the other players, I think you've officially christened us Egan's Rats. That was a great Wikipedia find.

We'll see you Sunday!

team formations strategies

hey planners of this tournament-

has it been decided to go on as planned and any team will be eligible as long as they have representing more than one city on a team...or have the gods of fairness prevailed and will there be a "draft" of players so to speak?

also early announcement to mark the calender more info and flyer to come in the next week or so but you heard it here first..
MMI 7 Hardcourt Bike Polo Tourney
MKE, Wi march 16th
reg 10am play at 11am
small ball tennis court action

15$ team of 3 however you wanna make it

teams

we're going to form teams on the morning of. doesn't mean it won't be competitive, it just means that it'll be way less predictable.

we'll save the more intense hardcore competition between the a-teams for your tourney on the 16th and the next Midwest regionals...

lookin forward to all of it...

What about the B team?

Shocked the world in the fall. 2-1 against the eventual champs (got screwed by crash the official on the goal call). Than beat the self proclaimed "A Team" 3-0 in about 40 seconds. WE failed to score a goal the reset of the match but thats beside the point.
We actually started our own separate Milwaukee Polo Club too we meet on tuesday mornings out on 38th and Kilborn. Rigorous work outs including plyometrics, a lot of cones for stick handling practice, weights, and a group of school aged children that form our practice squad. We have trained them to play games similar to all of you A teamers out there (which isn't too hard considering you're all a bunch of babies anyway). Come stop by and check it out sometime I dare you.

on competing

I think this might be the most competitive tournament thrown yet, tons of folks from lots of cities mixed up. Every game will be pulling nails to win. I am looking forward to it,

Jonny

what happens if...

what happens if we have a number of people there that is not divisible by 3?

who's going?

Let's hear it. Who's gonna be there?

our crew list..so far

zach, sam, joe, meg, crandall, jake, eric, brian, guthrie, matt, feih.

this will grow and maybe change but we are expecting to bring 12 at least.

any other cities coming besides the trifecta?

also just a reminder to all these recent anonymous posts...post a name or register because talking shit without a name attached is pointless and foolish.

would be awesome

if we could field teams with players from three different cities.

I'll be there.

I'll be there.

great, anon.

i haven't seen you in years.

i think it might need some help this time.

hmmm, apparently not. Check

hmmm, apparently not. Check out this photo that jonny took today.

love you too, kevvy

love you too, kevvy

the dome is clear

Life is good in madison, we were going to rent a snow blower but this worked out great.

I'm in. Some dumb

I'm in. Some dumb bat-killing fungus is getting all the caves on the east coast closed down, so my trip to West Virginia is off.
This makes three cars coming from Chicago, 6-10 bikers that I know about.

From Jamie

I'm really excited about this. I think the Toyota advert counts as a good omen.

OH MY GOD

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY!!!!

I have to ask....

Is there a plan for snow removal on sunday? With our powers combined (and provided there are a few shovels) I'm sure we can clear the court of any white stuff in short order.

-eric(mke)

Saturday Night: Snow, freezing rain and sleet likely after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 22. Southeast wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.

Sunday: Periods of snow possibly mixed with freezing rain and sleet, becoming all snow after noon. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 31. North wind between 11 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

yeah, the current courts

yeah, the current courts have a bit of ice from yesterdays snow but it is melting and will probably be gone by tonight. We are going to salt a bit but also have shovels and other tools for sunday. If the weather stays about 10 F we should be fine as the courts don't garner too much precipitation. If all else fails we head to the garage.

jonny

the courts will be wet, but

the courts will be wet, but it's forecast to be 31 degrees all through Saturday night, and throughout the snowfall on Sunday. which means puddles and perhaps occasional shoveling in the corners (bring a shovel just in case), where the radiant heat from below isn't as strong.

So: Game on. We have lots of gin and fresh cider for warm martinis, and tons of steak... Should be a good day.

polo + gin

Motherfuck how I wish I was there for this. Have fun and document the hell out of it. Please.

FROM JAMIE, RE: JONNY

aka - all else fails frank lloyd wright tourny.

So, if we can't play polo

So, if we can't play polo we're all going to become emotionally distant fathers who monomaniacly design broad, flat buildings and uncomfortable chairs?

How does gin and steak fit into this?

jameisez

well.

perfect weather

the freezing rain actually started about 1am. it's now icy as hell on every sidewalk and sidestreet, but the courts are currently free of ice. wet, but no ice.
