things you should know if you're thinking of playing
* everyone's welcome
* we play every sunday at 2pm or 3pm. subject to change. to get in on the inevitable last-minute schedule changes, get on the madbikepolo email list. (click here to subscribe)
* we also usually play once during the week, tues wed or thrus.
* we're usually a few minutes late to show up, cause we're usually fixing bikes right before hand, and you know how that goes.

gear
* bring a bike you don't mind breaking. wheels are the number one thing that breaks, then brakes, then frames. sometimes we get through an entire afternoon without having to make a repair.
* consensus in madison is that one speeds are better, freewheels are better than fixed gears, and a high gear ratio (say, 34 teeth in the front and 20 in the back) is best. but whatever, we don't discriminate.
* We have about 12 mallets, though some are sometimes broken. we always need to be building more. but you don't need to bring one.
